Serum 25-hydroxycalciferol level in residents of the Kherson region with cataract and glaucoma or myopia in the preoperative period.

Abstract

Was completed study of level 25-hydroxycalciferol in blood serum in the preoperative period in patients with cataracts complicated by primary open-angle glaucoma or moderate and high myopia.

The study revealed a decrease in the level of 25-hydroxycalciferol in all patients with age-related cataracts, especially with concomitant moderate and high myopia or glaucoma. In the age group over 75 years old, all patients of the examined groups showed a gross deficiency of 25-hydroxycalciferol, without a significant difference between the groups and concomitant ophthalmic pathology.
